Ingredients:
– 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 2 tablespoons Cajun or Creole seasoning
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 8 ounces pasta (e.g., fettuccine, linguine)
– Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Season the shrimp with Cajun or Creole seasoning. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over
medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove
shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add chopped red bell pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender. Add garlic
and smoked paprika, sautéing for an additional minute until fragrant.
4. Reduce heat to medium-low, add heavy cream, and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce begins
to thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Return the shrimp to the skillet, along with the cooked pasta. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook
for 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
6. Serve the dish garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
