Description

Mint Oreo Truffles are an easy, no-bake treat that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Combining the rich flavors of Oreos, cream cheese, and mint extract, these truffles are coated in smooth white chocolate for a decadent, bite-sized indulgence. The festive green hue and optional decorations make them a charming addition to any party or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies
  • ¼ cup (4 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ teaspoon mint extract
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or melting chocolate
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Green sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oreo Mixture: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies until finely ground. Add the softened cream cheese and mint extract, pulsing until fully combined and sticky.
  • Form the Truffles: Roll the Oreo mixture into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) using your hands or a cookie scoop. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm them up.
  • Coat with Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Add green food coloring if desired.
  • Dip the Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Use a fork to lift it out, letting excess chocolate drip off. Place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  • Decorate: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with green sprinkles or edible glitter for a St. Patrick’s Day touch.
  • Chill Again: Refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • You can use regular Oreos or mint-flavored Oreos for a stronger mint taste.
  • Dark or milk chocolate can be substituted for white chocolate for a different flavor.
  • Add extra mint flavor by slightly increasing the mint extract, but be cautious not to overpower the truffles.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
