The Old-Fashioned Custard Pie

Ingredients:

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

3 large eggs, beaten

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups whole milk

Ground nutmeg, for sprinkling

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together beaten eggs, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the whole milk to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.

Pour the custard mixture into the unbaked pie crust.

Sprinkle a little ground nutmeg on top of the custard for added flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Allow the custard pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Once cooled, slice into wedges and serve.

Enjoy this classic Old-Fashioned Custard Pie with its smooth, creamy texture and delightful vanilla flavor!

Note: For an extra touch, you can whip some cream and serve it alongside a slice of pie.
