Description

Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Chicken is a rich and creamy dish featuring tender chicken slow-cooked in a savory cream cheese and mushroom sauce. Ingredients

  • 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp celery seed
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cans (284ml each) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 package (8oz/250g) cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 tbsp chives, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken – Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. Season – In a small bowl, mix Italian seasoning, celery seed, onion powder, pepper, salt, and minced garlic. Sprinkle over chicken.
  3. Add Soup – Pour cream of mushroom soup over the seasoned chicken.
  4. Cook – Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
  5. Shred & Add Cream Cheese – After 8 hours, shred the chicken with two forks. Add cream cheese cubes, stir, and cook on HIGH for 1 more hour.
  6. Stir & Serve – Once the cream cheese melts into a smooth sauce, stir well. Garnish with chives and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add sliced mushrooms or diced onions.
  • Substitute chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier texture.
  • If the sauce is too thin, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir it in before the final cooking hour.
