Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Sauté Vegetables: Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
Prepare Sloppy Joe Mixture: Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Assemble the Casserole: Pour the Sloppy Joe mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cut each biscuit into quarters and arrange them on top of the Sloppy Joe mixture.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Melt the Cheese: Return the casserole to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Sloppy Joe Biscuit Casserole!
