Ingredients:
1 package Oreo cookies
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 package chocolate cake mix
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
In a bowl, combine the melted butter and crushed Oreo crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of one of the prepared cake pans to form the crust.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, eggs, sour cream, and instant chocolate pudding mix. Mix until well combined.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips. Pour the batter evenly into the two cake pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it simmers. Pour the hot cream over the powdered sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl. Stir until smooth to create a ganache.
Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of ganache on top. Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with ganache.
Garnish with additional crushed Oreo cookies if desired.
