Old-Fashioned Cherry Cobbler

A warm, bubbly cherry dessert with a golden, buttery topping — comfort in every bite.

Ingredients:

For the filling:

4 cups fresh or frozen pitted cherries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For the cobbler topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat until thickened (5–8 minutes). Pour into a baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add milk and almond extract; stir until just combined.
Drop spoonfuls over cherry mixture.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Let cool slightly and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
