Description

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies combine the cool flavor of mint with rich chocolate chips for a delightful treat. These chewy, soft cookies are perfect for holiday celebrations or anytime you crave a minty dessert. Easy to make, this recipe also offers the option to be gluten-free or vegan.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 ½ tsp Mint Extract
  • ½ tsp Green Food Coloring (optional)
  • 2 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mint extract, mixing until well combined. If desired, add green food coloring.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Shape and Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months for long-term storage.
  • Reheating: Warm cookies in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes to refresh their softness.
