Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup black or dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
