Garlic Parmesan Chicken Lasagna Bake

Ingredients:

For the Chicken & Sauce:

2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)

2 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt & pepper, to taste

For the Lasagna Layers:
9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (optional, for freshness)

🔥 Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the garlic Parmesan sauce:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Stir in the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes, forming a roux.

Slowly whisk in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

Bring to a simmer, then stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes, until thickened. Add the cooked chicken and mix to combine.

Assemble the lasagna bake:

Spread a thin layer of the garlic Parmesan chicken sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top.

Spread half of the ricotta cheese on top of the noodles, followed by a third of the garlic Parmesan chicken sauce, and a third of the shredded mozzarella.

Repeat with another layer of noodles, ricotta, sauce, and mozzarella.

For the top layer, place the final layer of noodles, then pour the remaining sauce over it. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Bake:
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish:
Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil, if desired.

🍴 Serving Ideas:
Serve with a side of garlic bread or a crisp green salad.
