Description

These Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites are the perfect dessert, blending crispy, golden wontons with a creamy, sweet strawberry cheesecake filling. Coated in cinnamon sugar, they offer a deliciously crunchy and smooth treat. Easy to make and customizable with different fruits or flavors, these bite-sized delights are ideal for parties or casual get-togethers. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce for an irresistible experience!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries.

  2. Assemble the Wontons:
Lay a wonton wrapper flat and place about 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake mixture in the center. Moisten the edges with water, then fold and press to seal, forming a triangle or pouch shape.

  3. Fry the Wontons:
Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. While the wontons are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

  5. Serve:
Serve the crispy, sweet wonton bites warm with strawberry jam or whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling with other fruits like blueberries, raspberries, or even chocolate.
  • For a lighter option, you can bake the wontons instead of frying them, brushing them with butter and baking at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
  • If you make these ahead of time, freeze them and fry directly from frozen for a quick and easy treat.
  • Ensure the edges of the wontons are sealed properly to prevent the filling from leaking during frying.
