Delicious Sugar Cookies with a Cinnamon Swirl

Ingredients:

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1 large egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

– 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.

Roll out the cookie dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.

Spread the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough.

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log.

Slice the log into 1/2-inch thick rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set and lightly golden.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
