A Decadent, Layered Treat with a Crunchy Crust, Creamy Mint Filling, and Rich Chocolate Topping
Ingredients:
For the crust:
– 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the mint filling:
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 2 tablespoons heavy cream
– 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
– Green food coloring (optional)
For the chocolate topping:
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar until fully combined.
Press the mixture into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
For the mint filling, beat the softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, peppermint extract, and a few drops of green food coloring (if using) in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy.
Spread the mint mixture evenly over the cooled graham cracker crust.
For the chocolate topping, heat the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and melted.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the mint layer, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Cut into squares and serve chilled.
