Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Gradually stir in buttermilk until a moist dough forms. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish, coating the bottom.
