Indulge in a flavor-packed, crispy shrimp dish inspired by the famous Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. With a crunchy coating and juicy, tender shrimp inside, this dish is perfect for any seafood lover.
Ingredients:
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil for frying
Lemon wedges, for serving
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the oil in a large frying pan or deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, beat the egg and mix it with buttermilk until combined.
Dip each shrimp first into the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour mixture, making sure to coat them evenly.
Carefully lower the shrimp into the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve the shrimp hot with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
