Ingredients

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp fresh strawberry puree (blended fresh strawberries)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh strawberry slices or sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Lightly grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or butter.
  • Prepare the Donut Batter
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, mix chopped strawberries, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fill the Donut Pan
    • Spoon batter into a piping bag or plastic bag with the tip cut off.
    • Pipe batter into the pan, filling each cavity about ⅔ full.
  • Bake the Donuts
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    • Cool donuts in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Prepare the Glaze
    • In a medium bowl, whisk powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Adjust thickness with additional puree or powdered sugar as needed.
  • Glaze the Donuts
    • Dip the tops of each cooled donut into the glaze and place on a wire rack to set.
