Classic Apple Crisp

A comforting fall dessert featuring tender baked apples topped with a buttery cinnamon-oat crumble, perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients:

5 cups apples, peeled and sliced (e.g., Granny Smith, Honeycrisp)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup old-fashioned oats

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix well and transfer to the prepared baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.

Spread the crumble evenly over the apples.

Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Let the crisp cool slightly before serving, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
