Ingredients
For the Fritters:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Scoop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 14–16 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the fritters cool, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle or brush the glaze over the warm fritters and let it set for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Variations: Try adding ground ginger or cloves for a more complex spice flavor. You can also stuff the fritters with raisins, chopped nuts, or a sprinkle of brown sugar for extra flavor.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
- Freezing: Freeze cooled fritters in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
