Old Classic Fashioned Goulash

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground beef

3 tsp minced garlic

3 cups water

2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce

2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes

2 TB Italian seasoning

3 bay leaves

3 TB soy sauce

1 TB seasoned salt

2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

In a large skillet, sauté the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Add minced garlic to the cooked ground beef and sauté for about 5 minutes, allowing the garlic to infuse its flavor.

Pour in the water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, soy sauce, and seasoned salt. Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.

Cover the skillet and let the goulash simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Add the uncooked elbow macaroni to the skillet, stirring well to ensure the pasta is evenly distributed. Return the lid and continue to simmer for about 30 minutes or until the macaroni is tender.

Once the macaroni is cooked, turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves, and add the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and fully incorporated.

Serve the goulash hot, ensuring each portion has a generous amount of cheesy goodness. Enjoy your hearty and flavorful goulash, a timeless classic that never fails to satisfy!
