Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup Valentine’s-themed candy (M&M’s, heart-shaped sprinkles, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and half of the Valentine’s-themed candy.
- Scoop dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, placing dough balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Press a few remaining candies on top for decoration.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
