Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
 - 1 cup sugar

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
 - Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 - Add Egg & Vanilla: Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
 - Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
 - Mix Dough: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
 - Shape Cookies: Roll into small balls (1-inch) or roll out and cut into shapes. Place on baking sheets.
