Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 sirloin or ribeye steaks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:

  • 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Steaks:
    • Rub steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
    • Remove and rest the steaks.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
    • In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
    • Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Cajun Sauce:
    • Lower heat and melt butter in the skillet. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in Cajun seasoning, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
    • Add Parmesan cheese and mix until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Return shrimp to the skillet to warm through.
  4. Assemble the Dish:
    • Plate the steaks. Spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over the steaks. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Swap shrimp for scallops or lobster for a luxurious twist.
  • Use seafood stock instead of chicken broth for a deeper flavor.
