Description

Southern Fried Salmon Patties are a quick, budget-friendly Southern classic, made with simple ingredients like canned salmon, eggs, and breadcrumbs. These crispy, flavorful patties are perfect as a main dish, sandwich filling, or snack.

Ingredients

  • Canned salmon (drained if needed)
  • Eggs
  • Onion, finely diced
  • Bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine canned salmon, eggs, diced onion, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into evenly sized patties for uniform cooking.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add patties in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove patties and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For gluten-free options, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Add spices or fresh herbs to customize the flavor.
  • To bake instead of fry, cook at 375°F for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
