Ingredients
- 5 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
- 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 8 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions
- Boil the Potatoes – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add whole, unpeeled potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes, until fork-tender.
- Mash the Potatoes – Drain and mash until mostly smooth.
- Mix in Dairy – Add butter, cream cheese, and heavy cream. Stir gently to combine, avoiding over-mixing. Season with additional salt to taste.
- Prepare for Smoking – Spread mashed potatoes evenly in a 12-inch cast iron skillet.
- Smoke the Potatoes – Preheat smoker to 225°F with mild hardwood (pecan or alder). Smoke for 1 hour.
- Serve – Remove from smoker and serve warm.
