Description

Paula Deen’s 5-Minute Fudge is a quick and easy dessert recipe that combines rich chocolate with the crunch of nuts. Ready in just 5 minutes, this creamy, customizable treat is perfect for satisfying sweet cravings or sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1⅔ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Stir constantly over medium heat until boiling. Continue boiling for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Add Chocolate and Marshmallows: Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Add marshmallows and vanilla, stirring until fully melted and combined.
  • Incorporate Nuts: If using, fold in chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
  • Set the Fudge: Pour into a greased or parchment-lined 8-inch square baking pan, spreading evenly. Let cool at room temperature or refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.
  • Serve: Cut into small squares and enjoy.

Notes

  • For nut-free fudge, omit the nuts.
  • Substitute pecans with your preferred nuts like walnuts or almonds.
  • Add peppermint extract for a holiday twist or swirl in peanut butter for a unique flavor.
  • To cut cleanly, warm the knife blade under hot water and dry before slicing.
