Description

Oreo Dirt Cake is a fun and creamy no-bake dessert featuring layers of crushed Oreo cookies, vanilla pudding, and whipped topping. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or kid-friendly treats, this easy dessert resembles a pot of dirt and can be garnished with gummy worms for an extra playful touch.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (approximately 36 cookies)
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 small boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip (or whipped topping)
  • Gummy worms (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oreos: Crush cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or a rolling pin. Reserve some crumbs for topping.
  • Make Cream Cheese Mixture: Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar and mix until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip gently.
  • Prepare Pudding: Whisk pudding mix with milk until thickened.
  • Combine Mixtures: Fold pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until fully blended.
  • Assemble Layers: In a 9×13-inch dish, layer crushed Oreos, followed by the pudding mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with a top layer of Oreos.
  • Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Serve: Garnish with gummy worms before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead Tip: This dessert tastes even better when prepared the day before serving, as the flavors meld together.
  • Pudding Flavor Variations: Chocolate, cheesecake, or butterscotch pudding can be used instead of vanilla for a unique twist.
  • Dish Options: Try assembling the dessert in a trifle bowl for a layered presentation or in individual cups for personalized servings.
