Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 89 tbsp water (as needed)
  • 5 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and nutmeg.
  • Add margarine and the raw egg to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until crumbly.
  • Gradually add water, one tablespoon at a time, and knead until a soft, pliable dough forms.
  • Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into five equal portions. Flatten each piece and wrap it completely around a hard-boiled egg, sealing the edges tightly.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over low heat. Fry the wrapped eggs until golden brown, turning occasionally.
  • Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure the dough is pliable but not sticky to prevent splitting during frying.
  • Use a neutral oil for frying to avoid altering the flavor.
  • Adjust seasoning and spices to suit your taste.
