Ingredients
- 1 pound white, deli-sliced American cheese
- ⅔ cup of milk or half-and-half
- 3–4 tablespoons canned, chopped green chiles or jalapeños
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder (optional)
Instructions
- For Slow Cooker:
- Set the slow cooker to the lowest setting.
- Add all ingredients and stir occasionally until the cheese is fully melted and thickened.
- For Double Boiler:
- Heat milk, chiles, and spices in the top of a double boiler over simmering water.
- Gradually add cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips, veggies, or crusty bread.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, include the optional chipotle powder.
- Store cooled dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave, adding milk if needed.
