Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs

- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk (or more if needed)
- ¼ cup confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round pan.
- Cream together white sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined. Add more milk if needed to achieve smooth consistency.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
