Description

Learn how to make homemade doughnuts with this simple and delicious recipe. Soft, fluffy, and golden on the outside, these doughnuts are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack. Customize them with your favorite toppings or fillings, and enjoy the irresistible homemade taste!

Ingredients

  • 352g of plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 large egg
  • 240ml lukewarm milk
  • 30g of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and lukewarm milk. Mix and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it forms bubbles.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
  • Add the egg to the milk-yeast mixture and mix well. Bring the mixture to a work surface, then knead in the butter until the dough is smooth and elastic (about 10 minutes).
  • Shape the dough into a rough ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, divide it into 60-80g portions and roll them into balls. Let them rise for 5 minutes before flattening each ball and creating a hole in the center using a piping tip.
  • Let the doughnuts rise for another 15 minutes.
  • Heat the oil to 180ºC and test the temperature by dropping a small piece of dough into the oil. If it fries quickly, the oil is ready.
  • Fry doughnuts for about 1 minute per side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Optionally, roll in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or dip in glaze.

Notes

  • You can fill your doughnuts with jelly, custard, or chocolate cream after frying.
  • For a vegan version, use margarine and a flaxseed egg replacement.
  • Ensure the oil temperature is accurate for perfect results.
