Ingredients
- Pizza dough
- ¾ cup marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese (or a mix with provolone cheese)
- 15 pepperoni slices
- ⅓ cup ricotta cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (plus more for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons hot honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 550°F (or as high as your oven allows).
- Roll the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle with a 1-inch crust.
- Spread marinara sauce on the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices evenly over the sauce.
- In a small bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with fresh basil and dollop it on the pizza in spoonfuls.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is lightly browned and the crust is golden. (If using a pizza stone, remove parchment paper halfway through cooking.)
- Garnish with fresh basil and drizzle hot honey over the pizza just before serving.
Notes
- You can replace mozzarella with provolone cheese or add Parmesan for a sharper flavor.
- To make your own hot honey, simply heat honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes, adjusting the heat to your preference.
