Ingredients

For the Cake:

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Make the Cake Batter – In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread into the prepared dish.
  3. Prepare the Fudge Topping – In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Sprinkle evenly over the cake batter.
  4. Add the Hot Water – Gently pour the hot water over the topping without stirring.
  5. Bake – Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is set and the edges are firm.
