Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Lawry’s seasoned salt
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup milk
1 egg
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Honey BBQ sauce (for tossing)
Instructions
-
Prepare the breading station: Cut the chicken into small chunks. In one bowl, whisk together milk and egg. In a separate bag, combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Shake to mix.
-
Coat the chicken: Dip chicken pieces into the milk mixture, then toss them in the flour bag. Dip back into the milk mixture, then coat again with the flour.
-
Chill: Arrange the coated chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with wax paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
Heat oil: About 5 minutes before removing chicken from the fridge, heat vegetable oil (about 1-inch deep) in a saucepan over medium heat.
-
Fry: In small batches, fry the chicken for about 6 minutes, turning halfway through, until the breading is golden and the chicken is cooked through. Set aside on paper towels to drain.
-
Toss in sauce: Heat honey BBQ sauce in a pan over medium heat. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until well coated.
Notes
-
Air Fryer Option: For a healthier alternative, spray the wings with olive oil and air fry at 370°F for 5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
-
Baking Option: For baked wings, coat the wings and bake on a greased, foil-lined baking sheet at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
-
Sauce Variations: Swap honey BBQ for teriyaki, buffalo, or your favorite BBQ sauce for a different flavor.
