Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 pound ground chicken or ground shrimp (or a mix of both)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and garlic powder.
- Add ground chicken, shrimp, or a mix of both, stirring until combined.
- Assemble the Wontons:
- Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Moisten edges with water, fold into a triangle, and seal.
- Bring two corners of the triangle together and pinch into shape.
- Cook the Wontons:
- Boil water in a pot. Add wontons in batches and cook for 4–5 minutes until they float.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Prepare the Broth:
- Bring chicken or vegetable stock to a boil. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and optional vegetables like bok choy or mushrooms.
- Assemble the Soup:
- Add cooked wontons to the broth and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with scallions or cilantro.
