Ingredients
- 6 sweet apples (medium-sized)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tsp coconut oil For the crumble:
- 2/3 cup oats
- 2/3 cup pecans (or walnuts)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp water (splash)
Instructions
- Chop the apples and sauté them in a pan with coconut oil, cinnamon, and salt over medium-high heat. Cover the pan for 2-3 minutes to help soften the apples, but be careful not to make them too soft since they’ll bake later.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- For the crumble, add oats, pecans, coconut oil, honey, and a splash of water to a food processor or blender. Process until the mixture forms sticky yet crumbly pieces.
- Grease a small baking pan or line it with parchment paper, then spread the sautéed apples evenly. Crumble the oat mixture on top, using your fingers to create larger pieces.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown and crisp.
- Let it cool for a few minutes and serve with non-dairy milk, yogurt, or a scoop of ice cream.
