Made with simple pantry staples, these potatoes are easily customizable with various toppings like cheese, garlic, or herbs. A gluten-free, visually impressive side dish that’s as delicious as it is elegant!

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
    • 4 large russet potatoes, washed and patted dry
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Prepare Potatoes: Use chopsticks or skewers as guides and slice each potato thinly, leaving the base intact.
  • Season: Place the potatoes on a baking sheet. Brush with half of the melted butter, ensuring it coats the slits. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Bake: Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and carefully fan the slices open with a knife.
  • Add Butter: Brush with the remaining melted butter.
  • Finish Baking: Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the edges are crispy and the centers are tender.
  • Serve: Enjoy hot, seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

  • To prevent cutting through the potato, use chopsticks or skewers as slicing guides.
  • Customize with toppings like grated cheese, garlic, or fresh herbs for additional flavor.
