Description

Create show-stopping Halloween Swirl Brownies that combine rich, fudgy brownie layers with festive orange and purple cream cheese swirls. Perfect for spooky celebrations, these brownies are both eye-catching and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder

For the Halloween Swirl:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Orange and purple food coloring
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Brownie Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
    • Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just incorporated. Avoid overmixing. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Cream Cheese Swirl:
    • Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until smooth.
    • Divide the mixture into two bowls, adding orange food coloring to one and purple food coloring to the other. Stir until the colors are vibrant.
  4. Assemble the Brownies:
    • Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
    • Add dollops of the orange and purple cream cheese mixtures on top.
    • Use a knife or toothpick to swirl the colors into the batter, creating a marbled effect. Avoid over-swelling to keep colors distinct.
    • Top with sprinkles if desired.
  5. Bake:
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Substitute the food coloring for other shades to suit different holidays or themes.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese for the best creamy swirl texture.
  • Clean your knife between cuts for perfectly neat brownie slices.
