Ingredients
- 1 (2-liter) bottle lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7-Up), chilled
- 1 (12 oz) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
- 1/2 gallon lime sherbet, slightly softened
- Green food coloring (optional, for a vibrant hue)
- Red sanding sugar (for rim garnish, optional)
- Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a large punch bowl, combine the lemon-lime soda and limeade concentrate. Stir gently until the limeade is fully dissolved.
- Add scoops of lime sherbet to the punch bowl, letting it float on top for a frothy, festive look.
- If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to intensify the punch’s color. Stir lightly to blend without fully dissolving the sherbet.
- For an extra festive touch, rim glasses with red sanding sugar. To do this, dip the rims of the glasses in water or lime juice, then dip into the red sugar.
- Ladle the punch into glasses and garnish each with a maraschino cherry.
Notes
- This punch is best served immediately to maintain its frothy and fizzy texture.
- To prepare ahead of time, store the soda, limeade, and sherbet separately in the fridge, and mix them together just before serving.
- For an adult version, add a splash of coconut rum.
- For a tropical twist, substitute lime sherbet with pineapple or orange sherbet.
