Savor the flavors of summer with Grilled Flank Steak Caprese with Balsamic Dressing. This easy-to-make recipe combines tender grilled steak, fresh Caprese ingredients, and a tangy balsamic glaze for a dish that’s both delicious and visually stunning. Perfect for family meals or entertaining guests, it’s a healthy and elegant choice.

Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Caprese:

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup mozzarella pearls
  • Fresh basil leaves

For the Balsamic Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak:
    • Marinate the flank steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or to your preferred doneness.
    • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Prepare the Caprese:
    • Grill the cherry tomatoes until slightly charred.
    • Arrange the steak slices, grilled cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella pearls on a serving platter.
  • Make the Balsamic Glaze:
    • In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and brown sugar.
    • Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  • Assemble and Serve:
    • Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the steak and Caprese.
    • Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding garlic powder or smoked paprika to the steak marinade.
  • Ensure the steak rests after grilling to retain its juices.
  • Use store-bought balsamic reduction for convenience.
