Ingredients
- 1 baguette loaf
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 beef tenderloin filets (about 6 oz each, 2 inches thick)
- 1 package of béarnaise sauce mix
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Baguette: Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick slices and arrange them on a large baking sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil. Grill on medium heat (350-375°F) until lightly toasted on both sides. Remove and sprinkle lightly with kosher salt. Set aside.
- Grill the Beef Tenderloin: Bring the beef to room temperature, then season generously with salt and pepper. Grill on high heat (450-475°F) for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium-rare. Let the beef rest for 10 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
- Prepare the Béarnaise Sauce: Follow package instructions to prepare the béarnaise sauce, whisking it with butter and water until thickened. Keep warm.
- Assemble the Crostini: Place the toasted crostini on a platter, top with a slice of beef, add a spoonful of béarnaise sauce, and garnish with chopped chives. Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute beef tenderloin with sirloin or flank steak.
- For the béarnaise sauce, feel free to use a homemade version if preferred.
- The crostini can be prepared up to 12 hours in advance.
- If you don’t have a grill, a grill pan on the stovetop works well.
