Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Wet Ingredients: Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and molasses. Add egg, vanilla, and grated ginger, mixing until smooth.
- Dry Ingredients: Sift flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine Batter: Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-30 minutes. The edges should set, and the center should remain slightly gooey.
- Prepare Icing: Beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt, then beat until fluffy.
