Ingredients
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons of melted butter
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth. Mix in salt, baking soda, and sugar. Gradually fold in the flour until batter is smooth.
- Heat the Oil: Fill a frying pan with about ½ inch of vegetable oil. Heat over medium heat until hot (oil should sizzle when batter is added).
- Fry the Bites: Pour batter into a Ziplock bag and cut a small corner. Pipe small circles (1-2 inches) into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on one side, flip, and cook the other side.
- Drain and Serve: Remove with a slotted spoon, place on paper towels, and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
Notes
- For added flavor, mix cinnamon with powdered sugar before dusting.
- Toppings like chocolate drizzle, caramel, or fresh fruit can elevate the bites.
- Fry in small batches to prevent overcrowding and maintain oil temperature.
