Description

Extra Crispy Oven Baked French Fries are a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries, delivering a perfect golden crunch with a tender, fluffy interior. This easy recipe uses russet potatoes, simple seasonings, and an oven-baking technique to achieve crispy perfection—no fryer needed!

Ingredients

  • Fries:

    • 3 russet potatoes
    • 12 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Seasoning Mix:

    • 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil
    • 1/8 teaspoon cumin
    • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Seasoning: Mix all seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
2️⃣ Cut the Potatoes: Wash, peel, and slice potatoes into ¼-inch thick strips.
3️⃣ Soak the Potatoes: Submerge fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
4️⃣ Dry the Potatoes: Drain, rinse, and thoroughly pat dry with paper towels.
5️⃣ Preheat the Oven: Set to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
6️⃣ Season the Fries: Toss dried potatoes with olive oil and half of the seasoning mix.
7️⃣ Bake: Arrange fries in a single layer and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway.
8️⃣ Increase Temperature: Raise oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
9️⃣ Final Touch: Remove from oven, sprinkle remaining seasoning, and add Parmesan if desired. Serve hot!
