Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup rose syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Fresh rose petals for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 6-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the creamed mixture, alternating with milk and rose syrup. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
  • Divide batter evenly among pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  • In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar to stiff peaks.
  • Assemble cake: Place one layer on a plate, spread whipped cream on top, and repeat with remaining layers. Frost the cake with the remaining whipped cream.
  • Garnish with fresh rose petals.
