Description

A warm and gooey Southern peach cobbler featuring sweet peaches and a buttery golden crust. This comforting dessert is quick to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned, drained)

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until juicy and sugar dissolves.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and vanilla, stirring until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
  5. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter and sprinkle with cinnamon, if using.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use canned or frozen peaches when fresh ones are unavailable.

For extra flavor, replace some sugar with brown sugar or add a pinch of nutmeg.

Try adding berries like blueberries or raspberries for variation.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in microwave (30–40 sec per portion) or in oven at 350°F for 10–15 minutes.
