Description

Easy French Dip Sliders are the perfect bite-sized appetizer or meal, featuring tender roast beef, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, and savory au jus for dipping. These sliders are an ideal choice for game days, parties, or casual family gatherings. With minimal prep and big flavor, these sliders are sure to be a hit at your next event.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter
  • Onion
  • Thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet rolls (King’s Hawaiian recommended)
  • Provolone cheese
  • Roast beef
  • Dried onion soup mix
  • Au jus gravy mix
  • Water
  • Parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until softened and browned.
  • Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice sweet rolls across the middle and place the bottoms, cut side up, into a baking dish.
  • Top the rolls with half of the cheese, followed by roast beef, onions, and the remaining cheese. Place the tops of the rolls on top.
  • Mix melted butter and onion soup mix in a small bowl, then brush over the top of the rolls.
  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5 minutes until the rolls are golden brown.
  • While baking, prepare au jus according to package directions. Serve the sliders with au jus for dipping and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Cheese alternatives: Swap provolone for mozzarella or Swiss for a different flavor profile.
  • Different buns: Use any slider buns you prefer, though sweet rolls add a nice contrast in flavor.
  • Add extra toppings: Customize your sliders with mushrooms, pickles, or a dash of hot sauce for extra zest.
