Description

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup Coca Cola
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons cream or milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 3/4 cups confectioner’s sugar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake Batter:
    • In a saucepan, combine Coca Cola, oil, butter, and cocoa. Heat until boiling.
    • In a separate bowl, mix sugar, flour, and salt. Pour the hot Cola mixture into the dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
  • Add Remaining Ingredients:
    • Stir in eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly to form a smooth batter.
  • Bake the Cake:
    • Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
    • Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool the Cake:
    • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before frosting.
  • Prepare the Frosting:
    • In a saucepan, heat butter, cocoa, and milk until the butter melts.
    • Remove from heat and mix in confectioner’s sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  • Frost the Cake:
    • Spread the frosting over the warm cake for a glossy finish.

Notes
