Description

Indulge in a Doritos Taco Salad—a quick and easy dish bursting with crunchy, cheesy Doritos, seasoned ground beef, and fresh vegetables, all tossed in a tangy Catalina dressing. Perfect for weeknight dinners, potlucks, or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 medium iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 12 cups nacho cheese Doritos chips, crushed
  • 1 cup Catalina dressing
  • Sour cream and guacamole for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and taco seasoning. Cook until browned, drain excess grease, and set aside to cool slightly.
  • Prep the Vegetables:
Chop iceberg lettuce and dice the tomato.
  • Combine Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, cooked ground beef, crushed Doritos, and Catalina dressing. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Serve:
Transfer the salad to a serving dish. Garnish with sour cream and guacamole, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To prevent soggy Doritos, add them just before serving.
  • Swap ground beef for turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles for a healthier or vegetarian option.
  • Use ranch, salsa, or French dressing as an alternative to Catalina.
