Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 450 g flour
- 200 ml lukewarm milk
- 20 g fresh yeast (or 7 g instant yeast)
- 50 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 50 g soft butter
- 1 egg
- A pinch of salt
For the Filling:
- 55 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla pudding powder
- 400 ml milk
Additionally:
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Mix lukewarm milk, fresh yeast, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Combine this with remaining dough ingredients. Knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Prepare the Pudding:
- Cook the pudding using 400 ml milk as per the package instructions. Let it cool slightly.
- Assemble Swirls:
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the pudding evenly, roll tightly, and cut into slices.
- Second Rise:
- Place slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). Brush slices with beaten egg yolk. Bake for 20-23 minutes until golden.
- Serve:
- Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For variations, add chocolate chips, fresh berries, or chopped nuts to the filling.
