This Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf with Melted Swiss Cheese is a hearty, flavorful comfort food. Infused with savory French onion dip and topped with gooey Swiss cheese, it’s a must-try dinner recipe perfect for family meals or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup French onion dip (or 1/2 cup sour cream mixed with 1 packet of French onion soup mix)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, French onion dip, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the Meatloaf:
Lightly grease the crockpot and shape the mixture into a loaf.
  3. Cook the Meatloaf:
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. Add the Cheese:
About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle Swiss cheese over the meatloaf. Cover and allow it to melt.
  5. Serve:
Carefully remove the meatloaf, slice, and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
